Kings Bromley Marina

If you are looking for a very relaxing holiday then the Coventry Canal is perfect for you. Just after leaving the Marina you will reach the Fradley Junction which is surrounded by pretty pubs and canal side houses. Before hitting the centre of Coventry you can head up the Ashby canal for a lock free lazy cruise.

Our Kings Bromley base is mid way along the Trent and Mersey Canal so you can cruise north to Northwich or south to Shardlow. This canal was one the first to be built in the UK and has industrial and rural views. Situated on the Trent and Mercy canal is the Harecastle tunnel. This is a dark spooky experience not to be forgotten.

The Leicester Ring is highly recommended for experienced boaters and takes a very active action packed week to complete the circular route. If you decide to head east after leaving the base you will reach the southern end of the Canal where it meets the River Trent. En route you can visit Burton upon Trent Brewery Museum and the charming ancient canal town of Shardlow.

If you like a mixture of rural and city landscapes then the Black Country Ring is a great option. You can head into the centre of Birmingham, England’s second city where old meets new. Wharves and Bridges have been regenerated and revitalised. You can moore up and venture into the city centre as walkways have been developed, new canal side businesses, cafes and bars thrive, and smart apartment blocks line the once industrial canals.
